Yesterday I went to the neighborhood association to see LittleErinChieftain in her new position as Executive Director. Back in the late nineties, when Erin and I had begun dating, both Erin and I had worked at various VINE organizations and she actually worked for the one in which she is now the head kahuna! We used to rearrange the desk drawer office supplies in the previous nerdly director's desk. One time Erin dressed up as McGruff the Take a Bite Out of Crime Dog and sat in Sean's desk until he got to work. Boy was he surprised. The best find was the suggestion box that we had made back in 1997. Can you believe they still had that old thing? It was a shoe box covered in this really bold paper with sunflowers and purple irises on it. The ridiculous part was the hole where you would put the suggestion was so big you could have put your entire foot in the box and wore it around like an actual shoe. Erin intends to keep it as a permanent icon in her official office. It was so cool to see Erin laughing and being able to reminisce with her about those magical times in our life. That was before things got bumpy with us, but they are great memories and I am glad we are friends still and wish her nothing but the very best in every aspect of her life. Also, I wanted to give a special wishsto a very pretty person Marissa and to wish her the very best this coming weekend at her wedding. I want nothing more than neverending happiness for your always.
